The BAZ-6944 is a Soviet special chassis from the Bryansk Automobile Plant that carried the 9K714 tactical missile system, known in the West as the SS-23. A correspondent of the archive owner stressed that it is a missile launcher rather than a rocket launcher: each vehicle carries a single missile, some with nuclear warheads, concealed under sliding doors at the back. The archive holds photographs of the vehicle and the missile system but no further technical data.
