Specifications need checking. Some figures here were taken from the archive and have not been confirmed against a source.

The Beachmaster was an amphibious vehicle built by Higgins Industries of New Orleans, Louisiana, the firm best known for its landing craft. The company's own photographic files from 1944-45 list it as an amphibious tank ("Amp. Tank").

Testing

Higgins photographs in the archive show the Beachmaster on the Lake Pontchartrain beach at New Orleans in September 1944. Others show it lowered by crane onto a railway wagon and tipped on its side for shipment in January 1945, and in a warehouse in April 1945. The close-ups show its running gear, which combined tyres with a main and an auxiliary track-and-bogie installation. In June 1945 it was photographed driving out of a Louisiana swamp.

The archive holds no specifications or production figures.
