The LARC-XV is a larger member of the LARC (Lighter, Amphibious Resupply, Cargo) family of wheeled amphibious cargo carriers, of which the LARC-V is the best known. The archive has little technical information on it, but holds exploded-view drawings and a set of photographs.

In 2002 a correspondent told the archive about a LARC-XV operating at Hunstanton in East Anglia, England, under the name "The Wash Monster", taking tourists out on the Wash to see wildlife and the local cliffs. He described it as similar to other LARC-XVs photographed with armour plating around the windows and cab, but with extra flotation or ballast tanks added under the hull behind each set of wheels. A later photograph he sent appeared to show the same machine repainted, identifiable by an identical dent in the rear panel.
