The Lincoln monster limousine was a one-off show vehicle built in March 2002 from a 1989 Lincoln Town Car stretch limousine, and offered on eBay in January 2003 by its builder in Missouri.
Design
The limousine body was mounted on 2.5-ton truck running gear with full-time four-wheel drive, hydraulic steering on both axles, driveline brakes, a 5:1 transfer case and a four-link suspension with adjustable air shocks giving 24 in of travel. It ran on 66-inch Tundra flotation tyres, which made it 22 ft (6.7 m) long, 10.5 ft high and 12 ft (3.7 m) wide. A forward-facing camera helped the driver see. Gearing was so low (about 130:1 in first) that it was used in truck-pull contests and for crushing cars. Inside, the factory limousine fittings remained, including a bar, two stereos, an intercom and a privacy screen.
On the water
The seller said the car had been balanced to float and that he had taken it into deep water and high waves for hours at a time, carrying up to ten people, around the main channels of the Lake of the Ozarks.
