Specifications need checking. Some figures here were taken from the archive and have not been confirmed against a source.
The Maki was a small amphibious convertible made in Canada in the early 1970s. The archive's example was a 1973 car offered for sale in 2003. A would-be buyer passed the seller's description on to the archive.
Design
The Maki seats two. An air-cooled single-cylinder engine drives a solid rear axle with a limited-slip ("posi") differential by chain, through a three-speed gearbox. The seller said the car was street-legal and had been registered for road use. According to the seller's notes it was distributed by a firm called Lindian, apparently in the Ottawa area of Ontario.
The archive gives no details of how the Maki was propelled in the water, and no dimensions or performance figures.
