The MOWAG Alligator is an amphibious armoured wheeled vehicle. The archive's only source is a sales advertisement that describes it as a new, current-production vehicle.
Design
It is powered by a six-cylinder in-line Deutz diesel. The armour stops .308 armour-piercing ball ammunition. Equipment includes NBC protection, smoke grenade launchers, air conditioning and heating, a thermal-imaging driver's periscope, run-flat tyres with central tyre inflation, power steering and a hull-mounted searchlight. There is a rear door and roof hatches over the driver and passenger areas. The vehicle swims at about 3 knots. The advertisement claims 75 mph on the road, and a MOWAG one-man turret for an FN MAG machine gun could be fitted.
