Hydrofoil version
Around 1959 work began on fitting the vehicle with hydrofoils. For this it received a 90 hp Tatra engine and the suffix W, becoming the NAMI-055W, which was run as a strictly secret project. In 1963 it lifted out of the water of the Volga for the first time and "flew" on its foils at up to 58 km/h. The vehicle has not survived.
