The WTCT-6 was an amphibious cargo trailer used in large numbers in the Pacific during the Second World War, mainly by the US Marine Corps.

Use

The trailers were towed behind LVT amphibious tractors (Amtracs). They were often used to carry ammunition and explosives: keeping that cargo in a towed trailer rather than inside the tractor gave the crew a better chance of survival if the load was hit. They could also be towed by the DUKW.

Variants

There were two versions. An improved model, the WTCT-6A, followed the original and was also used in Europe.

The archive material comes from a scale-modelling exchange about a Trakz model kit of the trailer, which the writer had not yet built.
