This Amphicar amphibious folding camper is a one-off trailer built to be towed behind an Amphicar, both on the road and afloat. It was offered on eBay in October 2004 by its owner in the south-east of the United States.
Design
The camper hitches to the swim bars at the rear of the Amphicar. It is described as very light, with a bed for two and plenty of storage beneath it. The top or back folds down, and the windows are fitted with mesh screens. Inside it was wired for an extra battery that powered a television and a 12-volt coffee maker, and a bilge pump was fitted.
Use
According to the listing, the owner had spent many nights aboard it on Sebago Lake in Maine and Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.
