The Nicho's Lodge amphibious vehicle ("anfibio") carried guests to a fishing lodge on an undeveloped island about 25 km south of Puerto el Mezquital, near Matamoros in north-eastern Mexico. According to the lodge's 2003 website, visitors were met at Puerto el Mezquital and taken across the channel by water, a crossing of about ten minutes. The same vehicle then drove the remaining 25 km overland to the lodge. It was also used to reach the fishing spots, and the site describes it as built to travel on land or in shallow water. The page gives no details of the vehicle's make, origin or specifications.
