The Trippel T74 and T77 were amphibious designs by Hans Trippel from the mid-1970s. The T74-Universal of 1974 had rear-wheel drive and Opel parts. The four-wheel-drive T74-Military followed in 1975. In 1977 came the T77-Military with four-wheel drive and the rear-drive T77-Universal, both with Ford parts, and a Ford-based "Jeep" that had no separate water propulsion. These designs led to the Amphi-Ranger of 1979-1982.
