The Bronto VAZ-1922 was built by Bronto, the experimental production division of the Lada factory, on the basis of the VAZ-21213 Niva. Its all-metal body is mounted on a frame through rubber cushions, and it runs on very large ultra-low-pressure tyres measuring 1300 x 600 x 533 mm.
The 1,690 cc engine produces 58 kW (78.9 hp) at 5,200 rpm. The vehicle weighs 1,700 kg ready to drive and carries 400 kg, with seating for two or five. It is 4.25 m long, 2.78 m wide and 2.43 m high on a 2,685 mm wheelbase, and turns in a 5.4 m radius. Top speed is 70 km/h, it reaches 100 km/h in 17 seconds, and it uses 18.8 litres per 100 km at 50 km/h. The archive data do not describe its behaviour in water.
