The Vityaz DT-3P is an amphibious two-section tracked carrier with a 3-tonne payload, built to carry people and loads in the especially difficult roads and climate of Russia's north, Siberia and the Far East. Its design allows it to be used as a universal chassis for technological and special equipment. Adding this small model let Vityaz cover the whole range of articulated carriers from 3 to 50 tonnes payload, and series production followed successful field trials of prototypes.

Specifications

The DT-3P uses a 6.7-litre Cummins QSB 6.7 six-cylinder turbodiesel with electronic direct injection, meeting Euro 2, driving through a five-speed Allison 3000 series automatic. Webasto heaters warm the engine and cab independently. It weighs 7.3 tonnes, seats four in the cab, has hydraulic steering and torsion-bar suspension, and runs on rubber-fabric tracks with metal grousers giving a ground pressure of 0.16 kg/cm2. Top speed is 60 km/h on land and 6 km/h afloat, with a range of 600-700 km; it climbs 35 degree slopes and crosses water obstacles by swimming.
