The Vityaz DT-7P is a floating two-section articulated tracked carrier with a payload of 7 tonnes, designed for the extreme north, Siberia and the Far East on soft ground such as swamp, deep snow and wooded country, at temperatures from +40 to -50 C. It has an enlarged cab and can also serve as a chassis for technological and special equipment.
Specifications
It weighs 15 tonnes ready to run and seats four in the cab. Power comes from a 360 hp Cummins L360-20 turbodiesel, with a six-speed Allison automatic transmission. Steering is hydraulic, suspension by torsion bars, and the rubber-fabric tracks with metal grousers give a ground pressure of 0.22 kg/cm2. Top speed is 40 km/h on land and about 5 km/h afloat, with a range of 500 km. It climbs 35 degree slopes and crosses water by swimming.
