The Vityaz DT-2P is a small amphibious two-section tracked carrier with a payload of 2 tonnes, listed in the Vityaz catalogue as a forthcoming model. It was intended for civilian work in difficult terrain and weather, such as swamp, deep snow and roadless country, where it combines high cross-country ability with low running costs, while still being able to use public roads under normal traffic rules.
Specifications
It weighs 5.5 tonnes ready to run and carries 5 people in the front unit and 10 in the rear. Power comes from a 173 hp Cummins C-173 diesel with an Allison hydromechanical transmission and torsion-bar suspension. Ground pressure is only 0.15 kg/cm2. Top speed is 60 km/h on land and 6 km/h afloat, with a range of 600-700 km, and it is rated for temperatures from +40 to -45 C.
