The BTM6 and its longer sister the BTM8 were amphibious mini-vehicles, called "dune buggies" on the Russian maker's website around 2000. The same site also offered the Astero and Jump off-road vehicles.

Design

Both models have a tubular frame and a glassfibre body on wide low-pressure tyres, with all wheels driven by chains. A VAZ engine of 0.75 litres and 24.3 kW (35 hp) provides the power, and every wheel has a disc brake. The BTM6 is a 6x6, 2.25 m long. The BTM8 is an 8x8, 2.95 m long. Both are 1.84 m wide and 1.87 m high, with 170 mm ground clearance, and each weighs about 800 kg ready to drive. Payload depends on the model and the number of people carried. The website gives about 200-400 kg with two people aboard. Top speed is 50 km/h on land and 3 km/h on water. Ground pressure is 0.14 kg/cm2 for the BTM6 and 0.24 kg/cm2 for the BTM8.

Options included a windscreen, a canopy, cab and engine heaters, wheel tracks, an electric boat motor, a winch, hydraulically driven implements and a caravan trailer.
