The GT-TM is a tracked amphibious transporter and tractor for snow and swamp, developed by the Rubtsovsk Machine Building Plant (RMZ) as a conversion of the GT-T. It carries people and loads and tows trailers for geological survey teams, winter-road building, disaster relief and pipeline maintenance, crossing sand, swamp, snowdrifts and water at any time of year.

Design

Compared with the GT-T, the GT-TM rides more smoothly and is faster and roomier. The plant says its body volume is 1.5 times larger, its reserve buoyancy twice as great and its engine life six times longer. A cab at the front seats the driver and two passengers, and the rear cabin has up to 24 seats. The vehicle has a YaMZ diesel engine, with tracks providing propulsion and steering in the water. It weighs about 11 tonnes, carries 2.5 tonnes and tows trailers or equipment of up to 5 tonnes. It measures 6.82 x 3.15 x 2.46 m and has a ground pressure of only 0.26-0.29 kg/cm². Top speed is 60 km/h on land and 6 km/h afloat, and range is 600 km on 620 litres of fuel.
