The Hobbycar B612 was a French amphibious car marketed by Hobbycar SA in the early 1990s. A shopfitting firm's portfolio records that it fitted out a 160 m² Hobbycar showroom in Paris in 1992. The archive also holds the cover of the owner's handbook for the 'Hobbycar B612 A', marked FW92/PROTOJL08, and a US design patent (USD356056) associated with the car.
In 2001 a French enthusiast circulated photographs to a group of amphibious-car fans. He was restoring a Hobbycar of his own and also sent pictures of a finished blue example to show how his car would look once complete. The archive's many photographs show the car on land and afloat, its dashboard, engine and adjustable suspension, and several cars in blue and silver. A sub-folder labelled 'Cortex' holds pictures of a related design.
