The Irbit Taiga is a compact amphibious six-wheel-drive off-road vehicle made by the Irbit motorcycle works. It has a simple frame with no suspension, relying on low-pressure tyres, and seats two with a cargo box behind. Payload is about 500 kg (1,102 lb).
The engine is a 649 cc water-cooled flat-twin four-stroke petrol unit of 32 hp, related to the 1935 BMW motorcycle engine on which Irbit's motorcycles were based. A four-speed gearbox with a two-range transfer case and reverse gives eight speeds both forwards and backwards. The Taiga reaches about 40 km/h (25 mph). It is about 4.1 m long and 2.25 m wide, has 33 cm of ground clearance and weighs about 1,200 kg. The fuel tank holds about 70 litres. The source states simply that the vehicle can swim, without explaining how it is propelled in the water.
