The Poncin VP 2000 is the small model in the range of amphibious all-terrain vehicles built by Poncin. The range grew to include the VP 2025, VP 2800 and VP 3000, a minibus and versions for farming and fire-fighting, plus 6x6 and 8x8 designs, as shown by the brochures in the archive.

A 1986 example

In 2004 a Poncin built in May 1986 was offered on the German eBay site. It was road-registered in Germany as a light commercial vehicle. It had been laid up for 11 years after an accident and was put back in order in the winter of 2004, with about 2,100 km and 84 operating hours recorded. It was powered by an air-cooled 600 cc two-cylinder Citroën engine of 18 kW with a four-speed gearbox, whose first gear was extremely low. It measured 2.65 x 1.70 x 1.45 m and was rated at 900 kg gross weight. The seller stressed that the tub was watertight, that the vehicle was easy to drive, and that it was not ex-military.

The archive also has factory drawings and photographs of the VP 2000, including one with an electric winch.
