The Poncin VP 3000 is one of the larger models in Poncin's range of amphibious all-terrain vehicles. The archive's information comes from a German advertisement for a rare military-police example with siren and blue light. The seller linked it to the Royal Marines and dated it to about 1979.

Design

The VP 3000 has a very strong steel lower tub and a glassfibre upper body. According to the advertisement it is about 4 m long and 1.8 m wide and weighs about 1,000 kg. It seats four or five. A Citroën engine of about 18 hp gives roughly 30 km/h on land and 3 km/h in the water. An outboard motor can be fitted to the stern for better speed afloat. The seller suggested it for hunters, fire services and collectors, and even as a ship's tender.
