The Havel Spyder 6x6 is a six-wheeled amphibious all-terrain vehicle made by the Czech company Havel, which advertised it as able to tackle snow, mud and water all year round. The archive holds a copy of the maker's 2005 price list, posted on a forum by someone asking whether the machine was sold in the United States.
Design
Standard equipment included an 18 hp Briggs & Stratton engine, a variator plus gearbox with cross-country, road and reverse ranges, four seats (the rear seats fold to leave room for cargo and two people), a protective roll frame with grab handles, electric lighting, a 32-litre fuel tank and instruments including a fuel gauge, rev counter and hour meter. It was offered in white, yellow, red, blue or green.
Options included tracks 31 cm or 46 cm wide (the latter for mountain use), a winch, windscreen, tarpaulin covers, a timber trailer, a front plough blade, a mount for an outboard motor, a tow ball and road lights with mirrors. Havel also offered custom builds, including other engines.
